Ingredients:
A selection of sliced fruits. Choose tropical fruits like mango, kiwi and pineapple or winter fruits like berries.
500g caster sugar
6 lemons (juiced)
750ml water
Method
1. Stir the water and sugar together in a pan and heat until the sugar is completely melted.
2. Stir in the lemon juice and taste. If it’s too bitter, you can add a little more of the sugar and water mixture.
3. Pour into a plastic container and freeze. After 45 minutes you’ll need to take it out and stir it around. If you have an ice cream machine it’s worth putting it through here to give it a ‘churned’ consistency.
4. Put the sorbet back in the freezer for a further three hours , stirring every until your dinner party guests arrive. (It’s often best if you make it the evening before.)
5. Serve the sorbet with the sliced fresh fruit.
